The Nike Lance 4 Titanium Cycling Watch_478

The Nike Lance 4 Titanium Cycling Watch

Nike Lance 4

The Nike Lance 4 Titanium Cycling watch is the star of Nike's ACG Oregon outdoor
watch collection. Inspired and partially designed by five-time (consecutive) Tour
de France winner Lance Armstrong, the Nike Lance 4 packs an impressive set
of features into a relatively lightweight and even fairly nice looking (in an outdoor
sports watch kind of way) titanium case.

Before I list all the features of the Nike Lance 4, I want to talk about one feature
in particular: the altimeter. Since cycling — and especially the Tour de France
– is so much about ascents and elevation, naturally the Lance 4 contains an altimeter.
The problem with most altimeters which are built into watches, however, is that
they are barometric altimeters, which means they attempt to measure your altitude
by measuring the atmospheric pressure, and in some cases, the temperature.
That also means natural changes in atmospheric pressure dramatically influence
altitude measurement. Usually the best way to use a barometric altimeter is to
calibrate it before you begin your ascent using a GPS, map, or a nearby sign, then
to measure your ascent as quickly as you can before the atmospheric pressure changes.
Since that obviously won't work for races that span days or weeks and hundreds
or thousands of miles, Nike incorporated their patented Zero Drift technology into
the Lance 4 cycling watch. Zero Drift technology is apparently able to determine
whether a change in atmospheric pressure was caused by changing weather patterns,
or by an actual change in altitude. Very clever, assuming it works.

Features of the Nike Lance 4 Titanium Cycling Watch

Altimeter with Zero Drift Technology. The Lance 4 uses a special algorithm to
attempt to distinguish between barometric pressure changes, and actual altitude
changes. Measure your ascent/decent rate, current altitude, quality replica watch, and the maximum
altitude achieved.
Barometer. (The watch even charts changes in barometric pressure.) Real-time digital compass. Displays your current heading as well as both magnetic
or geographic north (see my review
of the Tissot T-Touch for an explanation
of the difference). The watch even has a level bubble built into the face to help
you keep it level when using the compass. The resolution is 1 degree.
Thermometer. (Can be calibrated to compensate for your body temperature.) Dual layer LCD display so you can view the compass and other information simultaneously. Date display. Solid titanium case. 1000-hour chronograph. Enough for a race that spans over a month. Seven different alarms (for time, altitude, hublot replika, and hydration). The hydration alarm
can be configured based on temperature and race conditions.
Echo-chamber to make the alarms extra loud (since racing outdoors at high speeds
is seldom tranquil).
Dual time zones. Mineral glass crystal. 48 mm in diameter (about 1.9 inches). Cross-cut, textured buttons to make it easier to operate the watch while wearing
gloves.
Polyurethane strap. One-piece, pinless strap construction (for extra durability). Strap keeper to keep the unused portion of the strap from flapping and causing
unnecessary drag.
Stainless steel buckle and caseback. Electroluminescent backlight. Water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM, 10 BAR,watches u boat, or 330 feet). Lance Armstrong signature engraved in the caseback. Battery hatch on caseback for convenient and quick battery replacement. (I'm
not sure how long the battery is supposed to last, but I'd guess it's a little
on the short side considering all the watch's features, and the fact that battery
replacement is made so easy.)
About $260, give or take.

So support the Lance Armstrong Foundation with a yellow LIVESTRONG
wristband on
your right wrist, and if you're into cycling or other outdoor sports, you might
want to consider supporting Lance Armstrong himself (and Nike, of course) with a
Lance 4 titanium cycling watch on your left.

Look for Less Derek Lam vs Olivia Harris

I love a look for less that shows us similar styles without looking like the idea has been completely imitated. This is what I see when I compare the Derek Lam Nadia Hobo and the Olivia Harris Round Zip Pocket Tote. Both of these bags contain similar qualities. Let’s break it down and see what we have.

The Derek Lam Nadia Hobo caught my eye a couple months ago. Of course I saw the leather version, wholesale designer handbags, but it was the tye-dye python Nadia that truly stole my heart. The hobo shape is nothing new, wholesale discount handbags, but it is the outside additions that makes this design distinctive. Your attention will be caught by the tassel embellishment and the asymmetric front flap pocket. Then we have the Olivia Harris Round Zip Pocket Tote, which features similar outward elements to the Derek Lam Nadia. The zip pocket is shown asymmetrically on the outside of this bag and there is also a hanging logo tag with tassel.

So let’s go over how these two bags are similar and how they are different, shall we? The Derek Lam Hobo offers a more structured and longer shape. The leather is rich and thick, with a shoulder strap that seamlessly flows from the body of the bag. The Olivia Harris Tote shows off a more supple lambskin with shoulder strap ring attachment. The Derek Lam Hobo appears a bit more refined while the Olivia Harris Tote gives us more of a young, fun design. Both bags are gorgeous, rolex 8570f price, both bags give us a similar look, but both bags are entirely different. The prices vary by $850.

Buy the Derek Lam Nadia Hobo for $1,250 at Saks and the Olivia Harris Tote for $399 at Bergdorf Goodman.

The New Citizen BL5315-50E Eco-Drive Diver_313

The New Citizen BL5315-50E Eco-Drive Diver ,quality watch replica

Citizen BL5315-50E

Citizen is generally less well known than Seiko for their dive watches, however they do offer some very interesting pieces (e.g. a 1,000m mechanical nicknamed "Autozilla"; a 300m Eco-drive called "Eco-zilla"; and a new 200m Eco-Drive known as "Orca", among others). Adding to their innovative diver collection, and challenging what it means for a dive watch to be considered a "diver",rolex 8570f price, Citizen now has a new line of Eco-Drive divers with chronographs and alarms. At the head of the pack is the BL5315-50E.

The Citizen BL5315-50E

At 44mm of stainless steel, it's large but understated. Features include:

Stainless steel case and bracelet Perpetual calendar (nice!) Eco-Drive (4-month power reserve) 1-hour stopwatch 12/24 time and dual time zone support Alarm Water resistant to 200 meters, watches norway, or about 660 feet Mineral crystal Unidirectional ion-plated ratcheting bezel 44mm case, not counting the crown (nice and chunky)

There are several similar versions available with slightly different colors and looks. The BL5314-52E is the most expensive at $475 while the BL5334-04E sits at the lower end at $375.

Citizen really seems to be stepping up their game lately. Lots more to come.

Need opinions!!!

Im planning to buy a bag this weekend, replica watch wholesale, and have been fluttered with too many options this season. There have been so many great looking bags..and I've been trying to decide between the Balenciaga
Arena City Classic - Bois de Rose, Arena First Classic - Bleu ,wholesale rolex replica watch, and the chole paraty crossbody bag. If you have any other suggestions it would be helpful; my price range is around 1500 a bit less or more is okay. Thanks, watch hublot!

Real Housewives of New York City “I’m not a pregnant type of person.”

Wait, so, I missed something. We got a new housewife, Sonja Morgan (yes, she divorced a descendent of JP Morgan) last night, quality replica watch, and I had no idea that she was coming. At any rate, she’s here and she seems like a total crazyperson, which is exactly what I like to see. She spent half of her intro talking about how important sex is to her, and then we found out that she has an elevator. Not in her building; in her townhouse. Excellent. She will do just fine.

Beyond that, there were various and sundry other sorts of bizarreness all crammed into one episode: LuAnn on a rickshaw, Bethenny laying on the floor of her bathroom after finding out she was pregnant, Simon running around in his underwear in a clothing store. Oh, and there was also the little matter of Ramona’s already-famous runway walk of insanity…

The episode opened with our first introduction to our new housewife. Sonja, as I mentioned, is profitably divorced from a super, super rich Upper East Side heir and she really likes shopping, yoga and banging any dude that slows down long enough for her to jump on. She also dated Max, the same generic sugarmommy-seeking Argentinian dude with which Kelly went on a really awkward on-camera date last season. In short, I totally love her. Did I mention that she has an elevator?

She’s on the show because she’s “friends” (I feel like none of these people are capable of having actual friends) with LuAnn, who tried to remind all of us that she’s still rich enough to be ferried around New York by immigrants by arriving to a Central Park meeting with Jill in a rickshaw. I have this image in my head of LuAnn walking down 5th Avenue, offering random people cash for a piggyback rides, and then being really confused when they’re all offended. And now that I say it, well, I wouldn’t put it past her.

The Central Park meeting was one of those super-contrived Housewives things that sometimes make these shows kind of boring – LuAnn told us all that the psychic was right and that she has a man, Jill told us that…that she’s Jewish? I don’t remember. She carried a rather nice Hermes Kelly Bag, and I do remember that.

The next time that we saw the Housewives (or most of them, anyway), it was Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, and Kelly, Alex and Ramona were going to walk in a real, live fashion show! Jill also showed up, but mostly all she did was complain about everything – the location, the chairs, the clothes. I have news for her: this was an event hosted by a Real Housewife in Brooklyn. What did Jill expect, a Chanel show at the Grand Palais? It was Brooklyn. There were hipsters. She was overdressed. LuAnn didn’t show up because LuAnn doesn’t know where Brooklyn is.

Despite her best efforts (including an argument with Kelly about Twitter – Jill actually is in high school, apparently), Jill wasn’t the biggest story at the show, and neither were Kelly’s big linebacker shoulders in her strapless dress (no snark, I have broad shoulders too, strapless is hard to pull off.) That honor was given to Ramona, wholesale designer handbags, who apparently travels with her own personal supply of pinot grigio, complete with stemware, in her purse. She whipped it out to throw back a few glasses before her big walk, and then she tried to sneak some of her own jewelry onto the runway. I can’t decide if I love or hate Ramona, but she’s incredibly shameless, and I guess you have to sort of respect that.

And then, she took to the runway, and it was…magical. Let’s see, how to even explain it…she managed to bug her eyes so far out that it it looked as though all of her crazy was trying to burst straight out of her face, Alien-baby style. I tried to make that face in front of my mirror a few times last night (yes, that’s what I do to entertain myself while I’m procrastinating on my recaps), and I couldn’t even replicate it. Even after a few small drinks. Ramona has internalized the sort of wild-eyed madness that alcohol alone can’t create, and she so generously allows it to peek its head out from time to time for our entertainment.

While Ramona was propelling herself down a Brooklyn runway by the fire of pure insanity, Bethenny was sitting bare-bottomed on a toilet for our entertainment, taking a pregnancy test. And, well, since she hasn’t hidden herself away for the past 8 months or so, we already know that Bethenny is pregnant. It was hard not to have a bit of sympathetic anxiety watching her frantically dial her boyfriend from the bathroom floor, leaving him histrionic, cryptic messages about the important thing that she has to tell him. Between a sudden pregnancy and her dying father refusing to see her…well, I’d be clutching my dog in the fetal position on the bathroom floor, too.

Thankfully, however, fake watch, Bethenny mostly got a break this episode. The lion’s share of the episode’s public embarrassment belonged to Ramona, who didn’t stop with her crazypants runway appearance. Later, at a party for Jill’s Kodak sponsorship (really, she has a sponsorship with them?), Ramona picked a fight with Jill over Kodak’s financial situation, and then she got self-righteous about Jill’s hasty exit from the fashion show. I think that Jill deserves credit for not cackling so loud at her walk that the entire place turned to look, so we’re going to disqualify that from the argument.

Jill told Ramona that she needed to leave and the stomped off, and then LuAnn and Kelly came to diffuse the situation and Ramona managed to make them both stomp off as well, and then the cheese stood alone, sipping her pinot and plotting her next act of chaos. Because Ramona was already several sheets to the wind, she went back for more while Jill was actually on stage being honored or something, and that turned into a shouting match where Ramona told Kelly that she was brainless and she ran away, obviously afraid that Kelly would sit on her. Or something. I don’t even know anymore.

Look for Less Balenciaga

While the comparison is not spot on, there is still a resemblance between the Balenciaga First Bag and the Rough Roses Riley Bag. The good news is there are also differences; so we don’t have to get into the debate of it copying too closely to Balenciaga and maybe some might like the different leather of the Rough Roses bag.

Let’s take a look at the details of the two, shall we?

Balenciaga is beyond well-established now with their handbag line. Everyone who loves bags, whether they know it or not, has seen a Balenciaga bag in their lifetime. Finding a true Look for Less when it comes to a bag as iconic and stand-out as Balenciaga is tricky, but we think this option works for a few reasons.

Welcome Rough Roses, cheap wholesale designer handbags, a brand of leather accessories slated to be both elegant and sexy with a touch of attitude. What I see are Balenciaga-like details in the Rough Roses Riley Shoulder Bag,rolex submariner replica, including the zip front pocket with rosette studded trim at bottom sides. The leather is completely different from Balenciaga, in that it is totally smooshy while Baleciaga leather tends to be a bit glossy and offer more structure. The handle straps here are attached by ring hardware rather than to the bag directly. And of course, the tassels that Balenciaga is known for are not quite the same here. But overall, I’m pretty happy with this similar looking find for a mere $225 via Bluefly.

I know there is a strong fandom for Balenciaga bags and while you can never replace it,rolex 8570f price, it is nice to have a look for less option. Buy the Balenciaga First at Balenciaga for $1245.

GMT-7

Sep
28

Last week we (my gf and I) returned from my vacation in the United States. Going from GMT-7 to GMT+2 (daylight saving time included) resulted in that I still am a bit off-beat. During my holiday, fashion handbags outlet, the Rolex GMT-Master proved itself to be very useful when making phonecalls to The Netherlands.

Rolex GMT-Master II ref.16710 in the Grand Canyon

Rolex is also the brand that I spotted the most in the US, both in shops and in the wild :) Especially in the watch shops in Las Vegas, they had large collections of them. One of the stores that impressed me the most was the Tourneau store in Ceasars Palace. Besides having enourmeous displays full of Rolex, they also had Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Jaeger LeCoultre, Jaquet Droz, Cartier, Omega, Tag Heuer and a lot of other brands for sale. The sales lady told me that this was their largest store in the US (I don’t know if Tourneau is also located outside the US). The one thing I didn’t like about Tourneau, rolexwatch, is their ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ collection. Their prices are way too high (2995 USD for a used Breitling Aerospace for example) and these watches do not come in their original box and papers. But, according to one of the sales people, it does come with a nice Tourneau certificate. Ahum, as if that tells me anything. ;)

In San Francisco, the city that I liked best during our trip, I bought a copy of Revolution Magazine. I bought a copy in Singapore earlier this year, and I like it a lot. Too bad it isn’t available in Europe (you can get a subscription for a ridicilous price, 200 USD for 4 copies a year) but that has been solved thanks to Ariel Adams. Thanks mate!

Revolution Magazine has great photos (and not the press kit photos you see in most magazines) and on top of that, rolex 8570f price, really interesting in-depth articles I only know from the German watch magazines. I noticed that photoshoots (of ladies in bikini wearing watches that are just exotic as they are) and articles (diving watches) in my US issue of September have been copy/pasted from the issue I had bought in April in Singapore. Anyway, the other articles and the extra magazine that came with it made it all good again.

Oh well, back to work and back to writing watch related articles again. :) Thanks for the comments and e-mails I received during my holiday. I also noticed that during my stay in the US, the number of members of the ‘a Passion for Watches’ LinkedIn Group went over 560 and the discussion feature is being used quite well. If you are not connected yet, make sure you’ll do :)

Just before I went on vacation, I bought this great Omega Speedmaster Professional from 1969. I will enlighten you with some pictures soon :)

MCM North South Leather Hobo

I’m too young to remember when MCM was a big deal the first time around, but I have been assured that it was and I have no reason not to believe it. I’ve seen those bags, though, and I have a hard time imagining them being widely popular, but, you know, the 80s were a weird time.

I’m thankful that their logo bags haven’t returned in the 80s nostalgia wave (a wave that I’m ok with, in general – I just bought another pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers, after all), but if they keep making bags like the MCM North/South Leather Hobo, I wouldn’t mind at all if the brand became a trend all over again.

Since this bag is completely empty and not hanging on a shoulder, top 10 list of best watch brands, I think that the uber-slouchy, uber-soft leather would look a bit more tailored when worn. If it does, the bag would be nearly perfect for people that like a casual, easy sensibility to their personal style (or really, just about anyone that like wonderful leather in a neutral shade).

The knotting, tassel, buy a watch, and minimal use of hardware are enough to vary the texture and visual appeal of the bag. If tassels aren’t your thing, leather handbags on sale, then it’s removable, but I’d recommend leaving it on – it lends a nice vertical line, not to mention a little bit of motion, to this beautiful, modern bag. There’s not a note of 80s tiredness anywhere near this one. Buy through Saks for $995.

Versace Giselle Lock Hobo

Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve done it,leather handbag manufacturers in spain! I’ve found a Versace bag that doesn’t make my eyes roll or my stomach turn or my brain hurt just from looking at it. It’s simple,u.s. handbag factories! And functional! And kind of attractive! I could wear this bag and not be embarrassed about what it says about my taste level and also, my level of common sense.

But none of those things are what’s best about the Versace Giselle Lock Hobo. No, in fact, the best thing is the price. Shocking, right? Versace will normally charge at least two grand for any old thing, so color me shocked that the price tag for this attractive, buy fake watch here, reasonably functional bag falls so far below that number. Could it be that their accessories designers are finally realizing just how lucrative the handbag market can be if they give us products that are beautiful and fairly priced?

Don’t get me wrong, this is not the bag that’s going to save Versace’s company. It’s not even all that great of a bag, period. But it is a marked departure from the overwrought, over-designed bags that we’ve seen from the bag in the past, and the price point indicates at least a partial recognition that their products have been, well, asking too much for what they are.

But on this one, the price is good and the navy leather works nicely with the gold hardware. There are enough buckles and flaps and extra doo-dads that the Versace aesthetic is still present, but it’s no longer shouting for everyone’s attention. Instead, it’s understated and merely one part of the bag, instead of the design’s whole point. Buy through Nordstrom for $1350.
